Arsenal transfer news and rumours: Arsene Wenger dealt ANOTHER blow in pursuit of centre-back?

Phil Jones is keen to stay at Manchester United despite interest from Arsenal and Stoke, according to the Guardian.

The 24-year-old hasn't featured in either of United's Premier League matchday squads this season but is said to be confident of making his way into Jose Mourinho's plans as the season progresses.

Mourinho, too, is reportedly keen on keeping Jones at United, despite favouring Eric Bailly, Daley Blind and Chris Smalling ahead of the former Blackburn man.

The news is a blow to Arsene Wenger, who is desperate to sign a central defender before the transfer window closes in a week's time.
