According to Sky Italia, Milan are not willing to part with one of their centre-backs at this time in the year.
The Under-21 Italy international (right on picture) only joined Milan last summer in a £21million move from Roma.
It also suggests that Chelsea are looking for alternatives away from Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly.

Abdennour, a Tunisia international who holds a French passport, joined Valencia from French Ligue 1 side Monaco last summer for £17m.
Blackett joins Reading on permanent deal
Manchester United have sold defender Tyler Blackett to Reading.
The 22-year-old leaves his hometown club to sign a three-year deal at the Madjeski Stadium.
Reading boss Jaap Stam said: “As we know, Tyler is a talented defender who has played for United’s first team.
“He can play as a left-back or a left-sided centre-back; he has got great potential in the sense that he is quick and athletic, defensively he is strong and he is good at set-pieces.
Jokanovic could quit Fulham
Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic is fuming at being denied a loan deal for Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira.
And he will consider quitting the club if his squad is not bolstered by the end of the transfer window.
Jokanovic launched an outspoken attack on Craig Kline, a stats guru and friend of owner Shahid Khan’s son, who is said to have the power to veto any new recruits at Craven Cottage.
And after a loan deal with the 20-year-old Brazilian midfielder had been arranged in principle with United boss Jose Mourinho, data analyst Kline is said to have refused the deal.
After Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Cardiff, which maintained Fulham’s unbeaten start to the Championship season, Jokanovic publicly called out Kline – a pal of owner’s son Tony Khan.
Young Hammer pens new deal
West Ham defender Reece Burke has signed a new four-year contract.
The 19-year-old spent last season on loan with League One Bradford but played for the Hammers in last week’s Europa League play-off round first leg against Astra Giurgiu.
Burke told his club’s official website: “Obviously as a West Ham fan as well as a player, it’s fantastic to be involved with the club during this period.
“It’s still sinking in to be honest, the move and the changes here. Over time, I really believe everything will settle in, and it will feel like home very, very soon.”
He continued: “This season for me, another loan move may happen.
“I think I’m going to try and do Championship - the next step - and see how the season goes hopefully playing Championship football and I’ll hopefully get another load of games under my belt.
“I want to build on that experience and come back next year even better, just similarly building like I did last season.”

Benitez uncertain over Janmaat future
Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has admitted they could sell Daryl Janmaat this summer.
The Dutchman is still wanted in the north east but Benitez understands that he could leave if a reasonable offer is submitted.
“I told him the other day that the fact he’s here means he’s a player I like,” Benitez said. “He’s a good professional and I don’t have any problems with that.
“If somebody comes with a fantastic offer to us for him, we will analyse that. For the moment he is a player who is in our team and squad and I don’t have any problems to play him if necessary.”

Burnley striker heads out on loan
Burnley’s Rouwen Hennings is heading back to Germany for the remainder of the season after agreeing a loan deal with Fortuna Dusseldorf.
The 28-year-old moved to Turf Moor last summer but failed to dislodge first-choice pair Sam Vokes and Andre Gray and scored just twice as Sean Dyche’s side were promoted back to the top flight.
Hennings’ record in the second-tier of German football earned him the move to England after he scored 18 times in 29 games to finish as the division’s top scorer in 2014-15.
He will now move back to that level with Fortuna, who are currently third in the Bundesliga 2 table.

Cuadrado close to Juve return
According to Juventus director of football Giuseppe Marotta, winger Juan Cuadrado is poised to return to the Serie A champions in the next couple of days.
Marotta told Italian outlet Mediaset: “I hope that over the next few days we can conclude the Cuadrado deal
“For now he is a Chelsea player. We presented a proposal to them and are waiting for a response, but we are optimistic.”
The Colombia international arrived at Stamford Bridge from Fiorentina in January 2015 but struggled to make an impression on the first-team. He was sent out on loan last term to Juve and was successful, with the Old Lady now keen to bring him back.
Celtic boss Rodgers rubbishes Schweinsteiger link
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has poured cold water on reports linking him with a move for Manchester United outcast Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The veteran midfielder is not part of United boss Jose Mourinho’s first-team plans and is set for an Old Trafford exit this summer.
Rodgers, however, feels that the 32-year-old is past his best and has lost his pace. Pressed on the matter while talking to the Glasgow Evening News, Rodgers said: “I don’t need a marquee signing that can’t run.” Ouch.
Chelsea eye move for Milan's Romagnoli
Chelsea have made an approach for AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli, according to the Daily Mail.

Milan are reluctant to part company with one of their brightest prospects and will no doubt want to test Chelsea’s resolve when it comes to a fee.
Hennings returns to Germany on loan
Burnley striker Rouwen Hennings has been sent on loan to Dusseldorf for the remainder of the season. The 28-year-old, who has scored just two goals in 28 appearances in all competitions for the Clarets since his arrival from Karlruher, did not feature in boss Sean Dyche’s first-team plans.
The former Germany Under 21 international was understood to be keen on leaving Turf Moor in order to rebuild his confidence and reputation.

France Football are claiming that wantaway Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko has agreed personal terms with Inter Milan.
The 26-year-old, who impressed for France at Euro 2016 this summer, has openly courted a move away from Tyneside over the past few months.
He was criticised for his lack of consistency last term by some sections of Newcastle supporters as the club suffered a second relegation in seven years.
Sissoko has made it clear that he doesn’t want to play a part in Rafa Benitez’s promotion push but he was pictured in training at Benton on Monday afternoon. The plot thickens.
Manchester United reluctant to let Jones move on
Manchester United do not want to sell defender Phil Jones this summer.
The England international has been subject of interest from Watford and Stoke City in recent weeks but United want to keep him as cover for Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly.
Jones joined United from Blackburn Rovers in 2011 and has since 141 appearances in all competitions for the club but he is no longer assured of a regular starting spot.
Hooper moves to Northampton on loan
Port Vale have confirmed that striker JJ Hooper has moved to Northampton Town on loan in a deal lasting until January.
The 22-year-old will link up with his former manager Rob Page at Sixfields after the Valiants agreed to the move, subject to approval from the Football League.

McCarthy heading for Everton exit
Everton are looking to offload midfielder James McCarthy this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The Republic of Ireland international has found himself starting the season at right wing-back as Toffees manager Ronald Koeman prefers Gareth Barry and Idrissa Gueye in the middle of the park.
McCarthy was substituted in Everton’s 2-1 victory over West Brom at the weekend after just 38 minutes.
Brown set for Blackburn trial
Former Manchester United and Sunderland defender Wes Brown is set to be handed a trial by SkyBet Championship strugglers Blackburn Rovers.
The veteran centre back, 36, has been training with Owen Coyle’s team this summer and will now feature for their Under 23s side against Middlesbrough.
“Wes will play tonight, he’ll start the game against Middlesbrough at Leyland,’ Coyle told the Daily Mail.
He added: ‘We are hopeful that he will get 60 minutes in the game and build up. He’s trained for the last 10 days or so and has trained very well.
“We know he’s an outstanding player, he’s had an issue with his calf which has meant he has been stop-start, but he’s had a period of time without any negative reaction to that so hopefully he’ll play an hour or so tonight and move forward from there.”
Villa to release Lescott
Aston Villa are considering terminating the contract of unfancied defender Joleon Lescott.
The centre back is not part of Villa manager Roberto di Matteo’s first-team plans and fell out of favour following some woeful performances last term.
Villa are keen to get Lescott off the wage bill but a proposed move to Rangers broke down after Lescott decided he did not want to move to Scotland.
Villa are now ready to offer him a redundancy package rather than have him take up any space in their squad.
De Jong joins PSV on loan from Newcastle
Newcastle United have confirmed that Siem de Jong has joined PSV on a season-long loan.

Taarabt added: “For me it would be the perfect club, the one I need. With the experience I have, I know what a club like Marseille would expect of me.”
Hull keen to keep hold of Hernandez
Hull City have offered Abel Hernandez a new bumper contract in an effort to keep the attacking midfielder at the club.
Despite Hull’s extensive off-field problems, which include the sales of key players and the absence of a full-time manager following the resignation of Steve Bruce, they have recorded two wins from their first two Premier League games of the season.
Still, they are short of numbers in their squad and would not like to see Hernandez sold before the transfer window shuts.
Rodriguez 'very happy' at Madrid
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane insists that James Rodriguez is “very happy” at the club despite the attacking midfielder being linked with a big-money move to Chelsea this summer.
The Colombia international came off the bench in Madrid’s 3-0 La Liga victory over Real Sociedad on Sunday night.
Rodriguez signed for Los Blancos from Monaco in 2014 but has not reached the same heights that he did while playing in Ligue 1.
Reading eye Blackett loan deal
Reading manager Jaap Stam is mulling over the possibility of a loan deal for Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett.
The Royal boss is keen to add reinforcements at the back and may look to raid his former club.
He told Get Reading: “We’re still looking at a couple of signings. I know Tyler, not personally, but I know what he can do - what type of player he is, the way he can play. But I don’t know if it’s going to happen yet. We’ve shown our interest but I don’t know if we will succeed in getting him to the club.”
De Jong passes medical at PSV
Newcastle’s injury-prone midfielder Siem de Jong looks to have sealed his escape route back to Holland after passing a medical at PSV.
The Dutchman, who arrived at Newcastle from Ajax in 2014, came with a great deal of expectation.
He had captained Ajax to league titles, but came unstuck on Tyneside thanks to a string of injuries, even including a collapsed lung.
Galloway speaks
Brendan Galloway has been talking to the West Brom website after securing his season-long loan move to the Hawthorns.
“I’m delighted,” he said.
“It’s a great club and I’m really looking forward to getting started.
“My aims are to play and work hard for the team and help win as many matches as I can, it’s all about winning.
“I think for me personally, it’s really important to gain more experience. Coming here is the perfect opportunity to do that.
“I can’t wait to get started and put the shirt on.”

Galloway joins West Brom on loan
The done deals are coming thick and fast now.
Everton have just confirmed that Brendan Galloway has swapped Goodison Park for the Hawthorns as he joins West Brom on loan for the season.
He will wear the number 20 shirt at the club after passing his medical and training with his new team-mates for the first time today.
Galloway joined the Toffees in 2014 from MK Dons and has made 21 appearances for the club.
He’s the fourth Everton player to leave on loan this summer, joining Luke Garbutt, Conor Grant and Russell Griffiths who have gone to Wigan Athletic, Ipswich Town and Cheltenham Town respectively.
Wolves seal CBJ deal
There’s been a double deal at Wolves, where the Championship side have landed Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Ola John from Benfica on loan.
Borthwich-Jackson broke into the first-team picture at Old Trafford last season following a series of injuries to Louis van Gaal’s defence. He will now spend the season on loan at Molineux as will Dutch winger John, who spent last season on loan at Reading.

West Ham want Janmaat
West Ham are considering a £5million move for Newcastle’s Holland international full back Daryl Janmaat.
The right-sided defender has missed Newcastle’s last two Championship games through squad rotation, though manager Rafa Benitez insists that he remains a part of his first-team plans.
The allure of top-flight football may sway Janmaat, however, and West Ham may face competition to land the Dutchman from Watford.
Wolves keen to rescue Rhodes from Boro
Middlesbrough could offload January signing Jordan Rhodes with Wolves among the clubs monitoring his situation.
The Scotland international joined Boro for an initial £9million fee off the back of his goalscoring exploits for Blackburn Rovers but has not managed to hit the same heights in the north east.
Rhodes has scored six goals in 18 games since signing for Boro and there are doubts over his ability to make the step up from the Championship to the Premier League
Ambitious Wolves, under new Chinese ownership, are keen on taking a chance on Rhodes to fire them up the table.
West Brom set to loan Galloway from Everton
West Brom appeared to have pipped Newcastle to the loan signing of Everton left back Brendan Galloway.
The highly-rated youngster will move to The Hawthorns for the remainder of the season in the hope of furthering his development with regular first-team football.
Newcastle had hoped that Galloway would play a part in their promotion push from the Championship but West Brom’s ability to offer top-flight action looks to have swayed him.
Spurs eye Barca forward Munir
Tottenham are considering a late bid for Barcelona forward Muni El Haddabi, according to Spanish publication Sport.
The 20-year-old, who is also wanted by Everton and Stoke, is rated at around £10million by his club.
Munir has scored 10 goals in 43 appearances for Barca.
Cillessen closes on Barca switch
Ajax goalkeeperJasper Cillessen will be left out of the club’s Champions League squad for the clash with FC Rostov on Wednesday ahead of his move to Barcelona.
The Holland international is being lined up as a replacement for Claudio Bravo, who is close to joining Manchester City. Bravo’s arrival at City will in turn pave the way for England international No. 1 Joe Hart to be offloaded.
The highly-rated Cillessen has made nearly 150 appearances for Ajax since joining from NEC in 2011.
Marin set for Chelsea exit
Chelsea winger Marko Marin is understood to be in advanced talks with Greek giants Olympiacos.
The Germany international has failed to break into the first-team picture at Stamford Bridge since joining in 2012 from Werder Bremen.
The 27-year-old has made just 16 appearances for the Blues, and has been sent out on loan to Sevilla, Fiorentina, Anderlecht and Trabzonspor in recent seasons.
Everton open to Gibson offers
Everton are willing to listen to offers for midfielder Darron Gibson. The Republic of Ireland international hasn’t made the squad in the first two games of the season and Ronald Koeman is happy to let him go.
Gibson signed a two-year deal earlier this summer but the agreement was in place before Koeman’s arrival.
The arrival of Idrissa Gueye has pushed him further down the pecking order at Goodison with the Toffees boss also rating youngster Tom Davies.Gibson’s wages could prove to be a stumbling block but Hull are considering a move with the midfielder have previously worked under Mike Phelan at Man United.
Aston Villa registered an interest but are unlikely to make a formal bid after bringing in Mile Jedinak.
Flamini set for Turkey?
Former Arsenal duo Adebayor and Mathieu Flamini are reportedly set for Turkish side Rizespor.
Their coach Hikmet Karaman told Turkish news agency Anadolu that the pair are on the way in.
“We reached an agreement in principle with both players,” he said.
“They’ll come to Rize within a few days and the last step of negotiations are going to be done.
“This is down to everyone working to finish the deals, so I have to thank the board of directors and our president.”
Flamini was released by Arsenal in the summer, while Adebayor left Crystal Palace at the end of the season following an underwhelming stint with Alan Pardew’s side.
West Ham eye Bony loan?
West Ham are looking to Manchester City to help with their current injury crisis up front.

They are reporting that the Ivorian, who was snapped up in a £25million move in January 2015 has agreed a deal to move to China in January and the Hammers - who saw £20million singing Andre Ayew ruled out for four months last week - want to use him until then.
Carra: Liverpool must strengthen
Jamie Carragher feels Jurgen Klopp must strengthen his Liverpool squad in the transfer market before the window shuts, report the Liverpool Echo .
The former Reds defender was in attendance at Turf Moor on Saturday to witness his former club succumb to a 2-0 defeat to Burnley.
Liverpool enjoyed a record 81% possession and fired 26 attempts on goal but never seemed likely to take anything from the game.
Carragher, speaking to Sky Sports, was scathing in his assessment afterwards.
“The defence is a big problem,” he said. “It was a big problem under Brendan Rodgers and it doesn’t look like it has been rectified.
“Klopp’s had a summer now and looked at where he needs to strengthen but the big-money buys have been at the other end of the pitch.
“It still looks like they are lacking defensively and even in the holding midfield position.”
Liverpool defender heading out?
Liverpool are set to sell Tiago Ilori to Olympiacos, according to The Sun.
The 23-year-old defender is not wanted at Anfield by Jurgen Klopp and the German is reportedly set to sanction his £5million departure.
Ilori joined Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon in 2013 but has made just three FA Cup appearances for the Reds and also been sent on loan to three different clubs.
He will link up with Paulo Bento at Olympiacos, who was the manager of Sporting Lisbon when Ilori was coming through the youth ranks at the Portuguese club.
Krul set for new deal and loan move?
Newcastle are believed that have offered Tim Krul a new deal - before they ship him out on loan.
The Dutch goalkeeper has just one year left on his existing deal at St James’, but the Chronicle report that they want to give him a new one-year extension to protect his value and then confirm a loan move to Ajax.
Krul has been recovering from a knee injury which kept him out of the majority of last season and faces competition at the club from new arrival Matz Sels as wells as Karl Darlow and Rob Elliot.
A stint with the Dutch side would give him the chance to play some regular football.
More Hart-ache for Joe
Pep Guardiola will shuffle his Manchester City pack in the Champions League this week – but Joe Hart’s painful exile will go on.
City lead 5-0 going into Wednesday’s second leg of their Champions League qualifier against Steaua Bucharest at the Etihad Stadium.
After three games in a week, Guardiola confirmed he will rest those players who need a break, but England keeper Hart is likely to remain on the bench.
Yaya Toure, Gael Clichy, Fernando, Kelechi Iheanacho and Fabian Delph are all likely to feature against Steaua, but not Hart, who is set to join Everton on loan.
Stoke target Jones?
Manchester United defender Phil Jones is wanted by Stoke, according to reports.
The 24-year-old centre-back hasn’t made an appearance for United this season and is said to be surplus to Jose Mourinho’s requirements at Old Trafford.
The Sun say Potters boss Mark Hughes is keen to sign Jones on loan rather than on a permanent deal.
Jones was tipped to blossom into a world-class defender when he joined United from Blackburn in 2011, but injuries and poor form have curtailed his development in recent years.
Drinkwater set for new deal
Danny Drinkwater will sign a new £100,000-a-week contract this week - and claims Leicester have rediscovered their title-winning form.
Leicester midfielder Drinkwater will become the latest to commit himself to the club in what will be another major boost after a difficult start to the campaign.
Claudio Ranieri’s men lost at Hull on the opening day, were held by Arsenal and the reigning champions are already five points behind the top.
But after nailing down Ranieri, Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez among others to new deals, Leicester seems a happier place as they also went back to basics against Arsenal.
Benteke discusses Liverpool exit
Newly signed Crystal Place striker Christian Benteke has pointed to a lack of trust from Jurgen Klopp for his miserable time at Liverpool .
The Eagles hit man has moved to Selhurst Park for £27million just a year after joining the Reds from Aston Villa for £32million.
The Belgian international has reflected on his time on Merseyside and feels a lack of trust from the German manager was to blame for his lack of success.
“A lot of things happened at Liverpool,” explained Benteke. “When I arrived it was with Brendan Rodgers as manager, but then he was sacked and Jurgen [Klopp] came in and had his own plan, but that’s part of football.
Arsenal signing denied work permit
Arsenal ‘s calamitous transfer window continues after Japanese centre-forward Takuma Asano was denied a work permit to play in the Premier League .
Arsene Wenger is under intense scrutiny with the Gunners failing to sign a proven goal scorer and the Japanese youngster’s inability to earn a work permit adds salt to injury.
Despite five caps to his name and an impressive series of performances for the Japanese Olympic team, he has not met the requirements to play in England.
Wenger must now decide where to loan the 21-year-old with Ligue 1 or the Belgian Jupiler League likely landing spots.
Rodriguez in demand
West Brom boss Tony Pulis has joined Hull in a battle to sign forgotten Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez.
Baggies chief Pulis wants to take Rodriguez on loan to bolster his threadbare squad.
Ex-England player Rodriguez is also attracting interest from crisis club Hull, who have only 13 senior players available.
Former Burnley hitman Rodriguez was on the verge on an England World Cup call up two years ago after scoring 15 goals in 33 games for Saints.
Britton signs Swansea extension
They’re up and at it early in south Wales this morning.
Swansea City have just announced that Leon Britton has signed a one-year contract extension, meaning he will remain at the Liberty until 2018.
“Signing the extension was a very easy decision, like most of my contracts at Swansea have been,” Britton told the club’s website.
“I spoke to the chairman and said if you are happy to have me, let’s just keep the same terms. I think it’s one of the easiest contracts the club have ever drawn up.
“If you include the loan deals when I first came, I have now signed 13 contracts at Swansea.
“You never know, there might be a 14th - it’s down to me to try to prove I can still do a job.”

Arsenal dealt Lacazette blow
Arsenal’s hopes of signing Alexandre Lacazette look to be dead in the water after the striker committed his future to current club Lyon.
Arsene Wenger was interested in signing the French striker but had been reluctant to pay over the odds for his signature.
Now, speaking after Lyon’s 2-0 win over Caen, in which he scored both goals, Lacazette revealed he is staying put.
“From a personal standpoint, I will like to pass the threshold of 30 goals this season,” he said. “There will be no departure. Everything is going well here at OL.”
How much?!
Arsene Wenger has been quoted a staggering £50million for Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi.
And the Spanish club are trying to drive a hard bargain with Arsenal to raise enough cash to launch their own bid for Chelsea’s Spanish winger Pedro.
Gunners boss Wenger decided to walk away from Mustafi because of the price but the deal could be rescued because Valencia need the cash.
Arsenal’s transfer fixer Dick Law has gone to Spain to try to broker a deal, with Mustafi still their No.1 target but Wenger is looking at other options.
Klopp admits he may spend again
Jurgen Klopp is prepared to go back into the transfer market before deadline day but says he refuses to bow to panic-buying.
The Liverpool manager admitted the performance in a 2-0 defeat at Turf Moor wasn’t good enough even after dominating possession.
The Reds looked a shadow of the side that won at Arsenal on the opening weekend, but when asked if it meant he would spend money now, he replied tersely: “If one game should change my mind then I would be a real idiot.”
Klopp has been promised money to spend if he needs it, with chairman Tom Werner insisted only last week that there is money available to make more signings after the manager has actually broke even in his summer dealings.
Lescott not heading to LA
Joleon Lescott’s Aston Villa misery has deepened after LA Galaxy boss Bruce Arena ruled out a fresh move for him.
Lescott is still at Villa, where he is surplus to requirements, after a proposed free transfer to Rangers collapsed.
MLS outfit LA Galaxy tried to sign Lescott in January when Villa were toiling in the top-flight before opting for Jelle Van Damme.
But if Lescott, who became a scapegoat among fans as Villa were relegated with just 17 points, is hoping to rekindle the switch he will be disappointed.
Bassong set for Norwich exit?
Fulham and Leeds are in the running to sign Norwich defender Sebastian Bassong.
The Cameroon international is free to leave Carrow Road and the Championship pair have enquired over his availability.
Cottages chief Slavisa Jokanovic wants a reunion with Bassong after a spell together at Watford - but faces competition from Leeds.
Pulis eyeing Saints striker
West Brom boss Tony Pulis has joined Hull in a battle to sign forgotten Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez.
Baggies chief Pulis wants to take Rodriguez on loan to bolster his threadbare squad.
Ex-England player Rodriguez is also attracting interest from crisis club Hull, who have only 13 senior players available.
Former Burnley hitman Rodriguez was on the verge on an England World Cup call up two years ago after scoring 15 goals in 33 games for Saints.
But Rodriguez has struggled to work his way back to full fitness since suffering a devastating cruciate knee injury in 2014 and has fallen down the pecking order at St Mary’s.
Rodriguez, who came on as a late substitute in Saints’ 2-0 defeat at Manchester United on Friday, will only be allowed to leave if the south coast side sign another attacker before the transfer deadline.
Flamini set for Turkey move
Former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini is set to sign for Super Lig minnows Rizespor.

Hernandez scored the second and decisive goal in the win over Swansea on Saturday.
Jones wanted by Stoke?
Manchester United defender Phil Jones could make a last minute move to Stoke.
Jones has been left out of Jose Mourinho’s plans so far and is reportedly now wanted by Mark Hughes and the Potters.
The England international could move on loan before the end of the window, according to The Sun.
But it remains unclear whether United will let him leave as they could need him for defensive cover.
Obiang set for £5m axe?
West Ham are ready to sell striker Pedro Obiang.
The Sun claim that Crystal Palace and Torino will compete for the signature of the 24-year-old.
Slaven Bilic has put a £5million asking price on the front man, who has failed to nail down a place since his arrival last summer.
Kone told to stay away
Sunderland defender Lamine Kone was told to stay at home today.
The Black Cats faced Middlesbrough at the Stadium of Light and Kone was left out of the squad amid speculation he is set for a move to Everton.
Kone’s move is expected to be completed this week.
Sunderland boss David Moyes did not want Kone in or around the stadium this weekend because of his desire to leave the club.
Middlesbrough ran out 2-1 winners.
Gnabry set to leave Arsenal on loan?
Arsenal will allow Serge Gnabry to return to Germany on loan.
The youngster is reportedly wanted by both Hertha Berlin and Mainz after impressing during the Olympic Games in Rio.
Gnabry ended the tournament having scored six goals for his country.
Arsenal are happy to allow Gnabry to leave on loan, but he remains highly-rated and could return to Arsene Wenger’s plans next season.
West Brom target FOUR new signings
West Brom want to bring in four new players before the end of the transfer window.
Manager Tony Pulis is bidding to bolster his depleted squad with the arrival of a host of new faces.
The Telegraph report that alongside the arrival of Jay Rodriguez on loan, Pulis wants a forward, a winger and a full-back.

One out for Villa
Jordan Veretout will leave Aston Villa this week, according to the Birmingham Mail.
The midfielder fell out of favour during Villa’s disastrous Premier League campaign last season and does not look to have done enough to win his place back since relegation.

A move is thought to be a loan move with a view to making it permanent.
Petrov retires
Stiliyan Petrov’s Hollywood comeback from leukaemia to professional football is over after the former Bulgaria international conceded defeat.
After four years out following cancer treatment, Petrov attempted to win a contract back at Aston Villa under Roberto Di Matteo this summer but his dream of a returning to professional football was cruelly ended when no offer arrived.
Now the 37-year-old has reluctantly accepted Villa’s decision and revealed he will speak more on the matter at a later date.

“I am glad I was able to come back and do a pre-season but sometimes things do not work out the way we want.”

EXCLUSIVE: Chelsea want Juventus striker Mandzukic
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is set to raid Juventus for hitman Mario Mandzukic, reports John Richardson.
Conte is searching for a striker after failing to land his long-term target Romelu Lukaku, who wants to stay at Everton.
Chelsea had been confident they would clinch Lukaku’s return to boost Conte’s striker options.
But they are now in a desperate race to try and bring in an established striker whose goals can help propel Chelsea into the Premier League title race following last season’s nightmare showing.
Manzukic, 30, has only been with Juve for one season following a surprise £16million move from Atletico Madrid.
The Croatia international would cost around £25million, a third of the fee being talked about to prise Lukaku out of Goodison Park.
Blackett closes in on permanent Reading transfer
Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett is closing in on a move to Reading.
The 22-year-old has been told by new United manager Jose Mourinho that he’s surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and is free to find a new club.
The Royals decided against swooping for Blackett earlier in the summer as they decided the keep their options open, but getreading say they have now reignited their interest in the player.
Talks are ongoing with both Blackett - who is understood to be desperate to work with Jaap Stam - and United over a permanent switch to Berkshire.
Lukaku to get new deal
Romelu Lukaku is staying with Everton and could be offered a new deal.
Striker Lukaku has told their manager Ronald Koeman that he will ignore overtures from Chelsea to stay at Goodison Park for at least another season.
In the long run, the Toffees are prepared to make the 23-year-old their highest-paid player ever on a long-term contract worth over £100,000 per week.
The news is a massive boost for new boss Koeman, who has maintained since taking the Everton job in June that persuading the powerful Belgium international to stay was one of his prime ambitions.
Speaking after Saturday’s win over West Brom , Koeman said: “It’s true. Romelu spoke to me yesterday morning that he made a decision by himself to stay at least one more season.”
Spurs reject £10m offer from Schalke for Bentaleb
Schalke have had a £10million bid for midfielder Nabil Bentaleb rejected by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.
The French-born 21-year-old Algerian midfielder has been told by Spurs bossMauricio Pochettino there is no place for him at White Hart Lane after the arrival of Victor Wanyama and the emergence of England star Dele Alli.
That alerted Schalke who are seeking midfield reinforcements after selling German international hot-shot Leroy Sane to Manchester City and losing last season’s loanee Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
The Bundesliga side banked £37million from City and have cash to spend – but they have fallen short of Tottenham’s £15million valuation of Bentaleb.
Leicester to make Aleksandar Dragovic move
Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri is ready to switch his attention to Dynamo Kiev defender Aleksandar Dragovic as he grows frustrated in his pursuit of Michael Keane.
Ranieri made Burnley centre-half Keane a priority target at the start of the summer as he looked to bolster his squad ahead of their maiden season in the Champions League.
But Burnley have rebuffed a £15million offer for the 23-year-old and boss Sean Dyche insists he is not for sale.
Ranieri hoped that would change as the close of the transfer window drew nearer.
Ranieri hoped that would change as the close of the transfer window drew nearer.
However, there is a sense that Burnley may reject all offers for a player who is central to their hopes of staying in the top flight and that is forcing the Italian to look at other options.
That has led him to Austria defender Dragovic, 25, and Ranieri is ready to see if a deal can be struck for the player.
Kone 'banned from Sunderland training'
Lamine Kone has been banned from Sunderland’s training ground until the transfer window closes, report the Sun.
Kone is desperate to join Ronald Koeman’s Everton and has snubbed a new contract offer from Sunderland.

Liverpool eye Paredes
Liverpool have a ‘strong interest’ in Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes, according to Sky Italia.
The 22-year-old Argentine initially moved to the Italian capital on loan before making his transfer permanent in 2015.
But Paredes could now be on the move again, and Liverpool are said to be very interested in him.
Roma, however, are unlikely to want to sell such a promising talent.
Wenger: We're 'close' to another signing
Arsene Wenger has told fans Arsenal are “close” to making another signing.
The Gunners have been criticised for their lack of activity in the transfer market this season, and a short at both ends of the field.
Wenger may finally be ready to appease the fans, though.
“Yes we are close [to another signing],” Wenger told BT Sport. “But I would say spending in itself is not a quality. Spending and buying the right players is a quality.
“I am a bit fed up to always respond to the same things. We look and analyse absolutely everything and we have to make the right decisions.”
Fonte could yet leave Southampton
Jose Mourinho still feels he needs to another defender to his squad before the summer transfer window closes.

Now Wenger has been alerted to his availability after Mahrez penned a new four-year Foxes deal.
Brahimi was left out of Porto’s Champions League qualifier in midweek and the Portuguese club will sell the player for £40million.
Wenger looks set to miss out on Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez, 21, with the Spanish club insisting he is not for sale unless his £56million buyout clause is met.
