Two goals in the final 10 minutes saw us overcome a steely Watford team. Coming on the back of a late winner in our season-opener against West Ham, the shot stopper is impressed with the fight the players have shown.
'It says we have a great spirit, we keep fighting until the end, even in a difficult game when we were maybe not playing well like last week,' he said.
'They had a good opportunity in the first half that I saved with my feet and after I think it was a game between two well-organised teams without great chances. Capoue just had a great shot into the top corner. It was hard for us and I think we fought back well.'
The comeback began after Antonio Conte made three quick substitutions. One of those players –Michy Batshuayi – equalised with his first competitive goal for the club before Diego Costa sealed the victory with another dramatic winner. Courtois was impressed with the performance of his compatriot after he came off the bench.
'I think Michy has showed in both games that when he comes in he wants to score and he shows amazing drive to score – he did that last week and he did it again,' he said. 'He followed his goal by shooting against the crossbar as well and it’s good to have a great striker on the bench who can score a goal.'
Courtois added that this is the kind of performance the Blues will need to dig out when facing trips to tricky grounds such as Vicarage Road.
'I think even last year – we had a 0-0 here but other teams like United, City, all the big teams I think, find it hard here always. There are no easy games in the Premier League, so I think every away game is always harder, especially here, and it’s a massive three points.'
