Man City to help Joe Hart find a new club, says Txiki Begiristain
Manchester City will do all they can to help out-of-favour keeper Joe Hart secure a move away from the club before the end of the summer transfer window, according to Txiki Begiristain.
The 29-year-old has slipped further down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium following the arrival of Chilean keeper Claudio Bravo from Barcelona, with Hart having already lost his spot in the City first XI to Willy Caballero.
And the club's director of football, Begiristain, says they will do everything they can to find City's third-ranked keeper a new challenge: "We will try to find a good solution for everybody.
"We now have one week to make him happy and find a club where he has a real chance.
"We will try and help him because he deserves it."
Hart, the current England No 1, has been sidelined since Pep Guardiola took over as manager.
Argentinian Caballero wore the No 1 jersey for both of City's opening two Premier League fixtures this season, with Bravo expected to replace his fellow South American when he becomes acclimatised in the north-west.
All of which leaves Hart facing a season of despair, if he fails to find a new club, either via a permanent signing or loan deal.
Earlier on Thursday, Everton boss Ronald Koeman said he was not chasing Hart's signature while Sky sources also understand that Spanish club Sevilla will not sign the Englishman.
Hart's final game for City appears to have been their victory over Steaua Bucharest on Wednesday, which secured the club's participation in the group stages of this season's Champions League.
