Gyan considering loan move from Shanghai SIPG
Samuel Anim Addo, spokesman of Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan, has revealed that Shanghai SIPG have accepted a proposal to release the striker on loan after falling down the pecking order, following the arrival of Brazilian Hulk.
Gyan, 30, joined Shanghai from Al Ain last year but has failed to live up to expectations, scoring seven goals in 20 games. His battle with injuries has forced him into the club’s reserve team, according to reports.
“We have spoken to the club [Shanghai] about a loan move for Gyan and they have agreed,” Addo was quoted as saying by GhanaWeb.
“There are so many offers on the table but as we’ve always done, we will look at the offers and check what best suits Gyan and decide on what to do.
“Gyan is very focused on his career and has been training very hard, so we are looking at the options,” he added.
Gyan was recently linked with a move back to Europe, with Premier League side West Ham United leading the chase for his signature.
